Nope, the t68i dont have java. There are rumors about t68j but they remain as rumors still. Use the SEARCH function before posting a new topic, most likely your question had been answered before. And you may also find answers to questions you never thought of asking.

Oh dear.
Isn't T68ie the Orange version of the T68i?
And why would it not be available for the T68mi, given the identical hardware and now identical software in them both?
Not the most convincing of arguments to be honest.

Yep, the T68ie is the T68i on UK Orange. The T68j is at the moment a rumour and people at Ericsson Sevice centres/support call centres/any department of Sony Ericsson not in R+D would not know of the phone until a couple of weeks before the product was anounced making your claims very suspicious. Also the statement that you wont be able to upgrade the T68m models to the java model cant be right. Not only would S.E gain nothing from spiting there customers (as they would be spiting the T68m customers - anything the i can do the m can do. ITS THE SAME PHONE, remember that), but once and m is upgraded to an T68i the Ericsson server recognaises it as any other T68i and does not differenciate. This means Ericsson would have to go out of there way to stop m users getting the upgrade.
If you can tell me how your source in support got to know about the new phone and how Sony Ericsson are going to figure out what phones are T68m's and which are T68i (except external cover changes which can easily be addressed by changing the cover), then Ill believe you.

I hear ya buddy, they have the same hardware, only differences are the quality of the keys, battery fixing, volume control fixing and the brightness of the keypad LED's.
It would be very stupid of SE to not let T68m(i) users upgrade. Especially if your like me and spent £330 on a T68m !!! I would not be best pleased. Bring on the upgrade

The T68i comes in two versions, T68i and T68ie. The only difference between the two versions is the languages they support.

They can tell the difference between T68m's and T68i's by the IMEI. So they could stop T68m users from upgrading by only allowing the firmware to install on phones with a T68i IMEI. But that sounds pretty dumb. There is no physical hardware limitation, though, as the phones are exactly the same, hardware-wise. (Except for the girly cover
