> Dodgy SW Version on V800's
Bookmark topic
hi just bin in touch with vodafones tech department due to some weird problems with downloads on the V800's. Well its all down to a rogue batch of phones.
to check the software version hit right, *, left, left, *, left and then *. then select software info then software info again and scroll down to ITP version. If it ends in R1E then u WILL have problems downloading content from vodafone live! take ur phone into a store and get it exchanged...
If it ends in R1F its fine and will work ok.
Hope this helps someone out there.

i've got r1e and i have no problems whatsoever.
Could you perhaps elaborate what these problems are?
And do we really need a new thread for every item you report on? I will have difficulty following any of them if I have to bookmark yet another therad

oops sorry. i'll keep it to one post from now... the main things we are seeing and hearing from customers is downloads of ringtones, games and mp3's failing 90% of the time. Not too sure if its a problem globally as VF where u r may b set up slightly different on the MPAY side.
We have had around 70% of R1E versions returned. And now have technicians looking into it as a high priority.

Hmm, I have R1E for the ITP SW version but R1D for the 'general' firmware version....odd....
So does that mean that there is a newer firmware available? Or only for the ITP part?
Do you know what has been fixed? I don't care about downloading MP3's. I'll make those myself if you don't mind...
Thanks for letting us know anyway!!!!

I have R1D003 for the 'general' firmware version, and R1G for the ITP software version!
I did have a problem when I first got the phone of it just powering down and rebooting while I was using Live!, but it seems to be reasonably stable since.
Is there an updated list or anything of the latest firmware versions? Also, if you were to get your phone exchanged because of problems with it, is there an easy way to backup the entire old phone and restore to the new one? Obviously you can resync the phonebook through Outlook, but what about themes, installed games/applications, email accounts, etc. On my old Nokia 6600 the Nokia suite made it very easy with a backup/restore option.

Hi, I have R1D f/w and when I'm writting an SMS, the phone restarts after pressing the keys 7,1,2 (in this order), but not when I'm trying to call someone... Has anyone experienced the same problem?
@voda_jon : Any suggestions?
