Ahhh...I like the sound of the term 'ipod killer'!! New Sony NWHD3 has been described as 'dangerously cool' - and not by the Sony website either!! Sounds durable, user-friendly and worth the $$ -esp for the fatc that you can just hook it up to your PC and it’ll appear on your desktop as a hard drive, enabling you to simply drag and drop tracks in and out of it. Cool!!!

I have just Purchased the New Sony NW-HD3.

Having owned the Philips HD110 and an E-Digital Oddossy 1000. I can say the Sony is the Best Player I have ever bought.

I was a little bit dubious about the Revies Sonic-Stage was getting, But after installing it, I find it very easy to use.

Its a Simple as Drag and drop from your Music libary (located on your pc) to the Player. I am only using MP3's not Converted any to Actrac yet.

Couple of minor points. The Bit of Plastic that plugs into the bottom of you Player to Give you a Connection for USB and Power, this could get lost (if so u are screwed), Hoe there is a Docking station that you can Buy at some point.

The Headphones are ok, but I think most people would replace them with a Better pair.

The sound is great, with no background noise. Only fault (I found this with all my Players, I like my Players be Louder.

Also there are no Playlists (you create a Compilation Album with in Sonic Stage) the Same but Diffrent.

Conclusion.

I was looking for a Longer Battery Life,Great Sound and Ease of use, I have found all of these in the NW-HD3, so I would recomend this to any one.

Also please note, next to an I-Pod it makes the I-Pod look like a Brick. The Sony is Very Small (mini Size).

Enjoy.

It is on amazon for 220. Ive been meaning to buy a mp3 player for a whilem however a few things bug me, does this new sony model have a remote control? Also does it natively support mp3s, or will i have to convert all my music into artac?

Well firstly no aparently it does not come with a remote control, or docking station unlike the HD1, but unlike the HD1 it can take on mp3 tracks whhich do not have to be in atrac3, so i ordered mine off amazon last night for 219.99, then realising i could have saved 4p if bought from RicherSounds online .

Look forward to using it

it comes with no remote, but you can buy one seperatly. eventually, you can use the remote from your worn-out minidisc player, since all sony devices use the same remote plug

To themarques : sounds interesting , I've just ordered the HD3 from amazon for £219 - still time to cancel - How much can you get them for, and is the software in Japanese ? I've read this is a common problem.
