If that was true, k700 would be unbeatable but i dont think this is possible because the OS would probably have support for only 41 MB.
You got me excited for a moment there when i saw the thread title

Yes it's possible!
Naah, I'm just kidding.

kllr_dude is right, this question has been brought up several times before and major complications specially with the firmware would have to be resolved to make that possible. It would be great though, but I don't think SE would find it feasible to spend resources in that area, they probably would rather release a new model.

Also, don't forget that if by some chance the OS does support it, you would need to find a 1gig flash chip that is 100% pin-compatible with the chip in the phone now. That's virtually impossible.
And a 1gig flash chip would cost more than the K700 itself.
In other words, your friend is full of crap.

Hi
Of course it is possible. If the K700 uses Memory Stick Duo (internally) or something similar, like the S700. And if you can also get one with 1 gig.
So say it uses a 32 mb SD ram flash, the 1 gig SD ram uses the same interface. And of course the 1 gig is more expensive that the 32 mb.
So its possible...

That's a really big "IF" to assume.
