I am using an o2 payngo sim in my p910i, which only has one sort of vodafone branding on it, and that is that it wont let me change my mms settings (they are faded out) and when i send the settings to the phone, it says they are read only and cant be replaced.
The wap and internet settings work and can be changed.
Is there a way to change the settings at all??
Cheers

No. Voda handsets have all the WAP settings blocked to FORCE you to use the expensive and really crap Vodafone Live! services. They do this but also give you a discount on the handset price for it being tied to their network.
2 options -
1 - Throw it in a canal (if you have one handy) and buy an unbranded version (£500)
2 - Speak to CPW and see if they will flash it with generic firmware.
I really despair at people who moan about branded firmware. It's quite simple - unbranded phone = more money = less hassle. It's quite that simple.
Mind you, even Voda staff (and their area rep) are unaware the WAP settings are locked. Bit sneaky by Vodafone methinks ....

I don't know abaou Vodafone, but have you tried the configurations site at SonyEricsson?
They send an SMS message with the configurations you want, it worked for me with a TIM P900.

Will not work on Voda - the settings will be there, but you still can't select them as the menu is greyed out.
That one has already been tried without success !!

So it sounds as if the only option is to get it unbranded. Would CPW actually do this?
