Is it me only having this problem????

I seem to be having a few problems with my P910i on Vodafone UK, I'm on my 3rd one and its still no different.

The Alarm sound seems very, very quiet, sounds silly I know but its quite annoying.

If you select the sound you want for the alarm in the control panel its very loud (loud enough anyway), but when you go into the Alarm settings in the clock, and preview the sound it dead quiet (it doesnt wake me up).

I contacted SE support they told me it shouldnt be any diffirent and try it out on one of their handsets and its the same volume, so they told me to take the phone back to Vodafone for an exchange.

However the new one was exacly the same, plus the new one kept restarting whenever someone called me, so back to SE, and again told me to go back to Vodafone.

So today I got my 3rd P910i, and guess what its the same, Alarm volume at about 70% quiter than it is in the control panel settings.

Could this be a vodafone firmware fault, altho its a non banded one, not a live one (so I am told).

I know it sounds silly but it doing my head in now!!

Anyone else got this problem?????

ps. Forgot to say, what do you think of the Camera, none of mine seem to of been that good. Not anywhere near as good as my old N6600!!!

I agree that the sample alarm sounds a bit quiter but when the alarm does sound in the morning it seems loud to me! Pictures taken in day light look good for me. I do have the latest firmware.

I've found that some tones play more quietley than others, but the default alarm tone is pretty loud on my phone, although I doubt it would wake me if I was in a really deep sleep. I've found that .wav files seem to play very loud, I've got a .wav ringtone that I recorded myself on my PC and it's deafening!

I agree with you about the camera, mine is practically unusable indoors since it always seems to produce a dark red hue, even in fairly bright artificial light and no matter what settings I put it on. It's not too bad outdoors though.

My alarm also sounds at a quieter volume when being tested, however the alarm will ring at normal ring/multimedia volume when it eventually goes off! Theres no fault with the phone!

As a bit of a test theory, perhaps SE made it sound quieter when testing because it stands to reason that you may well be in a quiet, night time environment, perhaps with someone else sleeping in the room, when setting the alarm and would benefit from a quieter more subtle ring? Makes sense to me.

Anyway, dont go changing anymore phones mate on this reason, theres really nothing wrong with the phone!

I'd have to say that the alarm sound is very very low, but only for the default alarm sounds. But if I use a mp3 or a wave. It's the same volume as the ring tone (which is DEAFENING)

So all in all, just don't use the default files and use your own. Works for me... and I basically don't really use the alarm. I wake myself up (tell myself to wake up at 7am and I do, been doing it for years. Try it sometime)

Altho I agree with the posibility of SE making it quieter when testing it, it doesnt make any difference when it goes off, even when using MP3's its still kinda quiet.

The guy I spoke to at SE said the one he was trying when I called had no difference in volume even when he was just testing the sound in alarm.

btw the second P910i had a different problem, restarting every time I recieved a call, the one I got now keeps losing bluetooth connection when ever I make a call on my HBH-200, doh, I wish I could get the first one back, it only had the alarm volume prob, everything else worked fine........

I want a N9500!!!!
