Try this from standby screen, it'll put you into service mode....from there select service info/software info.

Try the search option for latest firmware info, there are plenty of threads regarding this issue, if you have no luck then let us know, someone here will be able to help.
What service provider you are with and also whether the phone is branded (operator logo on it etc), will help, as firmware versions will be different depending on network.
