> Toshiba unveils 80GB iPod drive

Toshiba today paved the way for 80GB iPods when it said it will ship an 80GB 1.8in hard drive in Q3 2005 a year after it introduced the 60GB version that can currently be found inside the iPod.
The Japanese manufacturer didn't mention any customers by name of course, but having supplied Apple with micro hard drives to date, it seems likely the relationship will continue with the new, higher capacity.

Yet I´m wondering what the heck they are expecting the people to do with such a huge space especially now with the photo Ipod?
Do they really believe we run around the whole day long with all of our pictures ever made and bother other people? Just because it´s easier to carry than 20 good old photo albums?
I´ll salute the day when the uncle donates a 5 teragigamegaanything device to his newborn nephew whose life expectation is lower than the single running time of the songs stored in it..
