I've had it with my P910i. I initially purchased this phone changing my contract from orange to voda, and going with CPW here in London , for the first time. I was quite satisfied with the customer service.
Since my purchase mid-october I have been trying EVERYTHING to get the phone to synchronise with Outlook. I have read all the threads on this board about the problem. I have covered all possibilities. I have tried synching the phone on different PCs and different versions of Outlook. Nothing ever happens. I have changed the syncstation...still nothing.
So I had enough and went CPW last week to see if I could change the phone for another model entirely. I explained my situation to them and as I expected they said that as it was outside the 28 days they couldn't do anything. I explained that I was waiting for the update to the SE Sync Software, to see if it made a difference to my problem. But they blankly refused.
Now I don't know what to do. What are my options? What can I do to change this phone? All advice is really appreciated.

As I guess you have really gone through all possible settings and steps (including new installation of outlook, Service pack 2, using newest synch soft, disabling firewall and antivirus, checking whether the phone is linked to the pc at all, sync via bluetooth etc.) you should find someone in London who is actually able to do sync just to verify it depends on your phone (which I actually couldnīt believe but which would be a reason to ask for warranty).

It's not impossible that you're handset is faulty, but as regards exchanging it for a different model, unfortunately you have already had the definitive answer - you can't. If you've tried all the previously described variants, and updated your FW to the latest version available on SEUS, then there is little else you can do. Unless you are insured, they will not even exchange it for a different model outside 28 days, so it would be sent to the Repairs Centre, and they'd probably only flash it anyway!
All I would recommend is that you read the threads here on the subject carefully, and ensure that you have exhausted every option, as there is little CPW are able to do to assist you unfortunately - what you are most likely experiencing is a compatibility issue of some sort and it is difficult enough to get the manufacturer to take responsibility for these - let alone the retailer....

thanks for the advice. it's much appreciated. I have exhausted all avenues on the synching front. still no joy. where do I stand with selling the phone? can I sell it as a sim free phone? it is unbranded and unlocked. my phone is currently under insurance with CPW's third party insurers. what would I have to do?

I'd contact your local Trading Standards office, and talk to CPW about rejecting the tekephone under the Sale of Goods act. The P910i is advertised as being able to sync with outlook, and if it doesn't then the phone is "Not Fit For Purpose".

@Hos
The insurance is not 3rd party - CPW own NTI, who are the insurance company, though I admit that's largely irrelevant!
The insurance shouldn't be necessary, although it does entitle you to what is known as an HAB replacement (Handset & Battery) which is a reconditioned unit, free of charge, within 24 hours, if you do not want to wait for it to go through CPW's repairs procedure, which could take two weeks. I think I would let the repairers have a go, as if they can't fix the problem, you could argue entitlement to a new unit. Under the warranty issued by

, all you will get is a repair.
I would also disregard the advice ref Trading Standards as the Sale Of Goods Act is not relevant here (yet) - you have to give Carphone the opportunity to rectify the problem, either through repair or replacement, before TS will get involved under the Sale Of Goods.
Hope that helps, and you are able to fix the problem

OK I will try that. Thanks Dave. Incidently can I sell my handset?

'Course you can - it is yours, after all. But you will be liable for the rest of the contract regardless. You could probably get a fair whack for it. I would have a look on Ebay and see what they're selling for to give you a guideline.
