Also tried midpSSH now. DAMN, same problem, just says connecting. Im now starting to suspect that Vodafone doesn't accept such connections?

You probable use a wap connection so several ports (pop, ssh, etc) are blocked. Try to use an internet connection. Contact vodafone or visit their website for tarifs and settings This message was posted from a Nokia 7650

The wap and internet connection may differ only by apn, for eg, apn 'wap' for wap purpose - surfing sites, apn 'internet' for http, email, ssh, instant messaging, irc, ftp, etc. See the differences? With an internet connection u arent limited This message was posted from a Nokia 7650

in response u r correct. u will need a seperate set of settings which allow access to internet services... indeed the APN is different and this allows u to acess email an other internet services.

Have you tried changing the "settings for java" under "communication" (or whatever it's called in your menu) ?
