is is possible to upgrade this phone or download any program that will alllow it to play MP3s or something similar. I am new to the cell phone world and appreciate any help, sorry if this is a dumb ?

No sorry you cant. But there is a mp3 player you can buy, an attachment.

Even if a software upgrade was possible, the T637 only has 2 MB of memory, not enough to make it a viable MP3 player.
