I know, this is not the proper place to ask for this kind of help, but I am desperate. Its not a mobile phone problem that I am having.
I used yahoo as a home page and as a search machine. Three days ago I installed by accident the yahoo toolbar, and that was where my troubles began.
At first I could open the yahoo page but I could not browse, check my yahoo mail, or use the "search function". I could use though the msn related programs, ie. messenger and hotmail.
Since then it spread like a virus, and now I can open only certain sites and that only after I have set my home page to "blank". What drives me crazy is why I can open this site and cant open others like yahoo, msn or google.
My modem diagnostics tell me that all is functioning ok (modem, isp, computer) except internet. I checked a thousand times the settings. I am running windows xp with adsl.
Please, give me one hint if you can.
Thank you

Uninstall the Yahell toolbar and do a sweep with a spyware prog. I would then suggest you do another full system scan with your anti virus program.
Worked for me

Also use the spyware programs whilst the computer is in safe mode for an accurate "clean out"

What I have noticed just now is that the pc is still doing the searching through yahoo, although I set home page to blank. How can I change this?
Maybe it has to do with the shortcuts I use?

Hi-jack this! Will do a nice sweep of all the ie settings you can get to and reset them. You prolly have a few more search tooks on your pc. Id have a go at uninstall programs if i were you and be ruthless! Fatreg
