Hi,

I'm planning to buy a K700i. Now it's a german phone and I would like to install the Dutch language. I mean to buy me a serial adapter to connect the k700i to multiserver. Phone is much cheaper in Germany. In Belgium its 100 euro more expensive, and when I buy it here i also would like a way to upgrade the phone by myself because I hate to go to the shop and leave my phone there for a day or two. So in that case I need the DSS-... thing (also50euro) The software and files on totalmuliserver are they official firmware and language files?

Is the upgrade easy to do?

Thnx

The DSS-20/25 syncstation can't be used with Total Multiserver for the firmware update. You need a serial T28 service cable (cheap) or a custom USB cable. If you check the web site out then they'll have a list of resellers, they normally bundle a cable and a credit.

If you need to unlock and debrand/upgrade the firmware then you'll need 2 credits, one for each function.

Not sure the firmware & language files are official but they appear to be perfect copies of those that Sony Ericsson would use.

The upgrade process is pretty straightforward. The only thing that has confused some people I know, is when the client prompts you to press the power button - it's only a quick press, not enough to power it on.

Takes about 20 mins to apply the firmware and then a bit less for the language file - two stages. Recently unlocked and debranded my old K700i using Total Multiserver and pleased with the result.
