what phone takes better pictures?? the sony or the sharp?? can sombody post pictures up of both so we can compare??

ive owned both and basically gx32 can take better pics IF
a)youre super still with your hand
b)dont move at all
c)tons of lighsource for the whole image not just one section
d)dont use zoom
but s700 has the ability to take good pictures without the above, good pics not as good as gx32s best but good enough.

! Hmmm . . . I would 'likely' to go with the Sharp one, had NOT those - "IFs" were included with your reply mate
I guess the
S700 is the 'best' between the two here . . .

sharp takes better pics.. but the s7 cam is better..in overall performance/function etc..

Propably because most of the users evaluating them are not photographers but mobile users.
At first quick sight they may look good - but If you look at pictures from the GX30 with a more critical eye - you will often see alot af digital artifacts and distortion and alot of bluecast around the edges, pictures are overly sharpened enhancing these problems. You wont find the same problems on shots taken with the S700.
see these examples of a comparison I did between the GX30 and the S65 - at first sight the GX30 pic looked better than the S65 pic - but as soon as I blew up the image 2 times on a specific spot of the pic - the errors of the GX30 became very obvious - and this test was against the S65 which is nowhere as good as the S700.

Furthermore - most pics you see in these forums from the S700 doesnt do it justice - because they are just point and click shots using autosettings or wrong settings under questionable conditions.
Just look at the pictures from the howard link above - most of the S700 pictures in this "comparison" are obviously shot using completely wrong manual settings for the conditions (deliberately or undeliberately) - which make most of them all yellow. How can you make a fair comparison of cams - when the photographer dont know how to use the camera properly. A good comparison is done under the same conditions by a photographer who knows how to use the equipment being tested to get the best from them.
A good photographer know how to use the manuel settings and with those you can achieve much better pictures. I beleive a good photographer will allways be able to make better shots using the S700 than using the GX30 - while a not so good "point and click allways autosetting" photographer may have more luck using the GX30.
But thats just my opinion of cource.

yes i took the pics if you read the thread... i was in a rush and forgot to change the settings...(the gx30 was a loaner)
and not all the pics are in the wrong lighting... the outdor pics were shot in daylight mode for the s710a.
but from a point and shoot perspective if all the settings were auto the gx would take better pics.. and the macro mode on the gx is pretty good.
someone with a crappy .3 cam with some skills couild proabably creat better pics then me though.

and I would also agree that when just using autosettings - many users would propably get more from the GX30.
Im defo no good photographer myself - but I know some pros and from them I know the importance of being able to spot the lightsources correct etc. and set the manual settings accordingly - and I like to think that when people buy expensive gear like that - they try to learn to get the best possible out of their cams.
But maybe Im just kidding myself - lol

i like esato now with my new p900 its been very useful. and yes, overall, and i repeat overall, s700 is better. but if you have patience and a non shaking hand, gx32 is the best for pics.
