Is it possible to create a new contact in the P910i with the flip closed? Is there an app that will allow me to do this as I don't want to have to open the flip to do it.

Yes you can with jotter.

Press menu button, select new, press the * button 3 times so numbers are selected, put phone number in, press OK than scroll down and you will see add to contacts.

Not very logical though is it. They should have that feature under contacts.
