> V800 £350.00 Payg- update rip off!

V800 is now available from your local Vodafone store for £350.00 on payg. While I bought one I enquired about unlocking for any network. To my surprise it was on their system and for only £20.00.
Once I register my phone going to unlock it then see if I can use Orange 3g services..
Update. I have been having very slow download speeds from Live!3g , about 7k a second when it should be 30-40k a sec. Vodafone technicians tole me" THAT WITH 3G ON PAYG YOU WILL ONLY CONNECT AT GPRS SPEEDS BECAUSE THE BANDWITH OF THE PAYG PORTAL CANNOT HANDLE THE TRAFFIC, YOUR LOCAL SHOP SHOULD HAVE ADVISED YOU ABOUT THE "LIMITATIONS OF 3G ON PAYG" !!!!, whats the point of having 3g then !,
ps have tried different phones and sims, only happens with payg so definatly a network problem
Can anyone who knows more about this advise please. Did I get total morons as techinicans or is this true ?????

erm.. Maybe you have to configure the GPRS settings. Hope V800 can support extra more than 1 account. ( But no.. right? )
Yup, unlock an V800 from Voda is just extra 20 quid. Most ppl dun like to pay that..

I would imagine that one could use it with Orange's 3G service, if one doesn't mind the Vodafone branding.
I must amdit that I am actually rather impressed with Vodafone's 3G service so far. Having been a 3 customer I find Vodafone to be a cut above, their content looks to be rather better than 3's.

@Vlammetje It seems the dutch versions of the V800 have less settings on iternet profiles than the UK V800's. I am guessing you dont have that much pre-paid services in your area or soemthing to that nature.

What a swizz!
I fully agree, what is the point in buying a 3G handset if one can only utilise GPRS speeds? I have a contract with Vodafone and the 3G download speeds are superb, so hopefully this will be a temporary problem for Pay As You Go customers.
