Mobile-Review.com provided some specs of the upcoming handset Samsung SGH-E720 for Europe. This model under the code name Odyn can be featured as the D500 in the clamshell form-factor and with the design of the popular E710.

Now the most interesting thing: most likely the announcement of Samsung SGH-E720 will be in January, the start of European sales – in March 2005. The price is expected to make up some ˆ350. See the photos below (the photos are snapped at the Samsung SGH-E720 presentation in Hungary.

I saw pics of the phone some days ago and i see it as a missed chance for samsung. Its just the e700 except that the camera and those buttons underneath make it look ugly. Nothing surprising and innovative on that phone. Samsung can do much beter! :-) This message was posted from a K700i

I like the fact that they put a larger screen on it, the number of colours isn't that important to me. BT is also a nice addition. And the memory. Kinda like the K700i, it's limited, but you can get along with it.

Samsung Odin is another variant of D500 but in a clamshell form-factor. The model got the number of E720 and will appear in the end of February with the price of 350 Euro. Its external 65K OLED screen has the resolution of 96x96 pixels. The size is 91x45x23.3 mm and the phone weights about 87 grams. The device is a complete copy of D500 and is peculiar in having control buttons for an mp3 player on the external surface. The camera is 1 megapixel while D500 has a 1.3 megapixels.

It could be presented in Cannes - to arrive on the market in summer - new Samsung SGH-E720, evolution of known E700. After the output of the models E710 and E715, Samsung should present on the market E720, which takes again the design of the preceding models and offers new characteritics. They are at the moment indiscretions, news to be confirmed in the days which follow.

Triband GSM with GPRS class 10, Samsung E720 should have a TFT screen of 262000 colors, with photocamera of 1.3 Mpixel with flash, Bluetooth and 82 MB of memory available.

Between the characteristics, they are detached a reader MP3 (with so much of frontal keys play/stop/pausa), of compatibility Java MIDP 2.0, browser of WAP 2.0 and e-mail client

The new model from Samsung will weigh some gram more than its prédecesseurs, but it would have in any event of remaining under the 100 grams: one speaks about 91 grams with dimensions 90x45x22 mm
