> What's the mobile scene in your country?

Things like - are you into SMS or voice or both? Do you use GPRS? What's the leading network provider in your country and what provider are you using right now? Don't forget to state your country.
I'm using both SMS and voice calls. I seldomly use GPRS. The leading GSM provider here is Smart but I'm using Sun Cellular and Globe Telecom. I'm here in the Philippines!

16yo Filipino-born Australian Citizen here. I use SMS, MMS, GPRS, Voice so far. I believe MMS (Multimedia Message Service) is quite a hit here among the younger generation. Have yet to have an overseas relative to own a phone with these capabilities so I can't share my photos/videos with them

3 operators (TIM, Telefonica-Bellsouth, Nextel). Im a TIM user and we´re almost over EDGE but the average user use mobile phones just for talking. BTW SonyEricsson phones only available with TIM.

Ok. Russia. We have lots of operators in regions and 3federal operators- MobileTeleSystems BeeLine and Megafon. The biggest is MTS and i use it. We dont have those branded phones and people like prepaid tariffs. We have cheap sms, but most tariff charge money for incoming calls. People there mostly sms and call, but i use gprs and email. Mms is not popular since people dont wanna pay 30cents for photo send. And some even dont know that they can. Im also waiting for i mode. That thing rocks. And 3g. They say 3g will launch only in 2006, but i still hope for 2005.

SMS heavily used, MMS very unpopular due to exorbitant charges, GPRS is slooow, EDGE and other 3G still beyond comprehension even to the operators themselves. Best is there's no firmware bundling - no handset locked to any network so each brand must fight for the market, which drives prices down.

I'm in JAMAICA and SMS and voice are used ALOT. Also, loads use GPRS, MMS etc. There is great demand for higher end phones as well if only by a small group. My provider is Digicel (GSM) owned my Irish company Mossel. Others here are Cable and Wireless (second popular using GSM & TDMA) and miPhone that is least popular and uses CDMA.
