Hi guys,
This is my first experience with any of SE products….. So I have lots of initial doubts about its operation. One of such doubt to use OPERA web browser on P910I. The default browser that came with Cell works fine with GPRS but the OPERA web browser that I installed from the CD given along with the P910i does not work. It shows me that I am connected to GPRS but does not browse the site. Can any one tell me what I need to do to get this working as my default browser…

although you are using GPRS its probably WAP on GPRS you are using because, in my experience, you need a full internet GPRS data account to be able to use OPERA

the internal browser is excellent once you set it to small screen mode anyway, so don't bother with Opera unless you have some major reason to use it.

I have to agree and I rarely used Opera on my P910. the only reason I did use it was for the mobile accelerator that opera offered for 15 days free trial use

The reasion why i wanted to experiment with opera is bez, here i have option to open up pages in different window and yet keep the earlier window open.... thats what i think it is.... But yes i have a WAP enabaled GPRS so its not a full fledged thing.... May be thats one reasion why i cant use OPERA.....
One more thing is it because of this that i am not able to access any of my pop or IMAP type mails through built in client of P910.......... do i need a full fledged Service not just WAP enabled GPRS to get my client working....

Thats probobly the problem.

I would use SE browser to if it could open new page in different window, it's expensive and takes time to go back to previus pages. Thats the main reason why i use opera, it's a pity because i think that Opera eats to much RAM on my P900. Some websight don't work with opera, then i use the SE-browser.
I asume that P910 is handling this better with more RAM?

I'm on wap only plans with t-mobile and recently was able to use Opera. Try this, go into Opera click on edit>preferences>click on proxy tab>check proxy enable box>in server name box put 216.155.165.50>in port number box put 8080. See if that help.

I tried with the above IP and port address..... the problum is still the same.......no errors but does not work tooo.... May be the issue here is full GPRS connection....

You need an internet Gprs data connection (as masseur wrote). You probobly use a wap Gprs account now wich work with SE-browser but not with opera.
