There's always a prob for me to pay extra charge when some noobie play with my phone and they accidently go online thru the 1st 2 icons on the desktop menu. I was wondering how i do disable GPRS in my K700i mobile or can it prompt for a password whenever ppl want to access online?

I suggest this workaround: Create a dummy data account with a nonexistent APN, then point your active internet profile to it whenever you don't need to use gprs.

You can make the dummy account as the "second account." Connectivity -> Internet settings -> Internet profiles -> More -> Advanced -> Second account -> Select account

This way, connection won't be made even if you accidentally activate the browser.

Welcome to Esato
I suggest this:
don't let dummies mess with your phone unsupervised!

Alternatively you can go to Connectivity > Data comm. > Preferred Service > GSM Only.
This will disable GPRS

I don't think he wants to permanently disable GPRS!! Much easier just to change the setting rather than spend half an hour & loads of money ringing them!

Why WASTE 'LOADS' of money here mate Unless he is calling from a public pay-fone . . . of course, using the mobile also will! But say, just using the plain - landline in his house will be cost-free mate. My suggestion is - YES, a permanent 'deletion' of the GPRS feature . . . sorry !

Put a black sticker on the screen just above the "Internet icon", maybe the "noobs" don't get curious about it...

I guess the 'noobs' just knows how to 'peel-off' a sticker mate . . . Maybe by putting a permanent 'black-paint' will do - BEST !

What is terribly annoying is that in my K700 with the R2L firmware there are links scattered around in a lot of menus that point you to the SE "fun & downloads" site or Sony "fun". One lapse in attention or a wrong push and there you go for a gprs session. I think the "fun" refers to the operators cashing in.

I'm on a plan where I pay per session, so one wrong push and 50 eurocents down the drain and no (self-set) budget no more when I would like to read the news on the train or so.

That's how I ended up in this thread, with the risk of going OT, hoping that someone had found some kind of 'lock' that you should pass before actually starting the gprs session. Quod non. A dialogue with 'do you want to start a GPRS session' would be "fun" for the customer. But the operators won't think thats "funny" so it is not going to happen.
