Soryr if this has been posted before..
But Can anyone confirm this? True or False
THREE Firmware locks the Z1010 into 900mhz only.
De- branding will allow it to work in Triband 900/1800/1900 and will work in USA.
Also heard the camera quality increase when phone has been debranded?
Is this true?
If so how / where can I get my Z1010 Debranded in Sydney?
Can anyone help out in Sydney for a fee?

False..Will never work in the States, and its not locked to 900Mhz at least as far as I know as in the UK in needs to switch between O2 and 3.

False, but I think maybe an updated firmware might just do that but have heard nothing since..

You need to use an online server like Total Server and a T28 cable, but if you dont know what you doing then dont mess around with flashing your phone.

i think there are some problems when switching from 3g to 2g networks like o2. At least this was the case with the Z1010, you needed to flash a special file to the GDFS to iron out some bugs.

I've personally tested using a GSM 1800 SIM card on a 3 unlocked Z1010. Sadly, I can only receive calls and SMSs. I can't use GPRS, can't make calls nor can I send SMSs.
But everything works fine when I inserted a GSM 900 SIM card.

If you do not mind searching around, I bet some of the stores in Chinatown can do it. Prices should be around $20 - $30 (try to bargain). Alternatively, give Sydney Cellular Repairs a call and ask if they do it (last time I called, they said the equipment has yet to arrive).

Is it a bug of firmware (I have R1H015 customised by Orange France) or is the phone really locked to GSM900 in 2G ?
Are all branded Z1010 locked to GSM900 in 2G ? Are also unbranded Z1010 locked this way or not ?
Is it a normal situation (despite SE claims it's GSM900 and GSM1800 in 2G)
DaVinci tool allows to enable 1800 mhz band for the Z1010. Has someone already tried this option? What are the results ? What are the risks of this operation ? Are there more problems switching between 2G et 3G (especially with a branded firmware) ?
Any ideas ?

Yes now the phone (Z1010) can be unlocked to not only GSM 900 but 1800 and 1900.
i would recommend Setool for this.
