> where can i update k500i firmware

i have usb data cable. also is k500 firmware same as k700 if not wat happens wen u update k500 with k700 firmware

You cannot update the firmware of a K500 with a usb cable , you need either a DSS-20 Sync-Station for use on the Sony Ericsson Update Service or a T28 Service/Unlocking cable for use with applications such as TOTAL MultiServer or DaVinci.
The firmware is almost the same but the K700 has specific features that would only work on a K700 (such as bluetooth) and it would be advisable to try and upload K7 firmware to a K5!

no you cannot put k700 firmware on the K500 using the update service. Too many hardware incompatabilities.

if you flashed your phone with K700 firmware you would probably end up killing it becuase K7 flashes are larger than K5 flashes
however theres no problem flashing k7 with k5 files
also if your phone is branded you will not be able to use any se update services

I believe putting a k700 flash on a k500 Is impossible. It will report an error. You can use tms or davinci server for your purpose. Why do you want to update it by yourself? Isnt your phone under warranty?
