I went to the sony ericsson website to obtain their update software, when i tried to update my k700i after downloading it it said -
You are not permitted to use this service.
Your provider does not recognise this software.(or something like that)!
How can i update my firmware if i cant use it?

My firmware is R2C001 - is this crap?

no you can not use SE US with Orange branded phones, at least for now and the latest version is R2AE033... R2C was among the first versions, I wouldn't call it crap, but definetly worth upgrade to later...
