I received a anonymous test message from someone which wouldnt come off my phone even though it doenst appear in my inbox, there is a text message icon with an @ symbol next to it. Someone told me I will need to do a master reset in order to get rid of it. is that true? and how do we do that?

I think that is a MMS message.
To delete, just go to Messaging/Picture/Inbox and delete it.
I don't think you need to do a reset.

Well to master reset go Menu > Settings > Master reset (last option in list)

That's the way it goes sometimes, you lose one or two games after a master reset;and you can't backup games to the PC.

You shouldn't have reset your phone. That icon is sign for an e-mail, I think it could have been removed another way.
