The reason I ask this question is two fold.
Firstly, I have tried three different third party batteries in my P910i and all of them gave problems.
They would start charging and then immediately jump to 64% charge, remain there for about 6 hours and then eventually get to 100%. In use they would last for only around seven-and-a-half hours.
When the batteries indicate a 100% charge they would read 100% all the time or drop to 84% and remain there. However, about seven or so hours later the battery would just give up even though it says 84/100%.
I spoke to the guy in the shop from whom I bought the last battery and he says he has never before had anyone return the batteries.
Secondly, I have a Sony Cybershot camera. With my two previous Cybershot cameras I could use my third party battery. With my current Cybershot camera the battery (which I still have) simply will not work.
So clearly Sony have made a decision to prevent the use of third party batteries in their new line of cameras.
So I was just wondering if anyone has an idea as to whether Sony Ericsson have decided to copy the example of the Cybershot situation to prevent the use third party batteries in the P910?
Any insights would be helpful.
Thanks.
