hi guys first of all merry christmas.
i have recently purchased a p910 after having a p910 it cost me a lot more than i was hoping to pay but i didnt mind paying extra for such a great phone.it really is the best phone on the market it has endless possibilities i no longer need a gameboy to play great games and i dont need to waste money on portable media players to store videos. It ticks all the righr boxes and is almost perfect,in fact when looking at other phones to buy it just makes them look like they are from the darke age.
however sony i feel lacks in all its other market places, whenever i purchasedanything sony i found it overpriced e.g discmans and walkmans they are like a mercedes livin off the days they used to be something different and unique but still ask a massive mark up. Theur music buissness has been demolished by apple and their lack of inovativity and they did not have the forsight to see what was happening.
I really hope you agree with me that the pxx is the shinning star of sony and that it really puts the rest of their buissness to shame, i would be really gratefull for all your imput.

I guess you dont own a PlayStation...even better a PSP? I have always used Sony and will continue to do so the build quality has always been to a high standard hence they price tag. Your description of a Mercedez living off its glory days is far from accurate, Sony is pushing forward and will do exceptionally well with the PSP upon world wide release.

Don't forget that it is Ericsson who knows how to build mobile phones, i don't think that Sony rule so much over the phones. The marketing is Sony's speciality...

Be real man, look at the merc SLR that is quality workmanship at its best...Sayin either of the two dwell in the past is a little mediocre. If you think about it these 2 companies still have a very big market share in the world and if they "were" dwelling on past flames then they would have gone bust like all the others one hit wonders.

Anyway look this is going to go into cars and back into phones etc, as much as you may hate Sony you will probably just have to live with it anyway as I am certain they are not going anywhere in a hurry...So really this is a never ending topic.

er..my Sony DVD player from 3 years ago was rated better than similar priced competition, my Sony EX71 SLBs are the best headphones I have heard for less than £30, my Sony Clie TH55 was the best value BT & WiFi PDA product available when it was launched (it was RRP 299 but are now sold for £400 now that they are so rare).....
I have a SE P910 and a Moto A1000 - I can you tell you the A1000 is smaller and has a built-in GPS and really good quality stereo speakers and is a 3G device. The P910 is good but in some areas it can't match the A1000.
My point is, that products in any company are developed by teams and it depends on the team how good the product is as well as the overall strategy of the company. I believe the P900, the basis for the P910, was designed by a Sony person while the P800 was designed by an Ericsson person. These are very different in the initial impact they create even though deep down they are similar.

I understand your feelings about Mercedes but i can't say that i can see the similarity to Sony?
Sony make both cheap and expensive products, you can't say that about Mercedes...
Now i see moore of Ericsson in the mobile phones and don't think that Sony has so much involvement in the mobiles, maybe that just what i wanna belive because i'm as a swede is a little bit proud of Ericsson who is a pioneer in the telephone market. The mobile phones is just a little bit of Ericsson's market, when they got problems for a couple of years ago they took help from Sony and that was a big help for them because of Sony's knowledge in marketing.
I have some Sony products but don't like Sony's "lifestyle" thing, i think that they are doing both excelent things and crap.
I have looked at some japanese phones but have come to the conclusion that they can't build mobiles as i want them, megapixel cameras isn't everything! That's why i believe that Ericsson is constructing the phones.
Sorry for my english, i'm not so good to express myself and have sometimes problem to find the right words in english...
