> k700i: making photos wallpaper proportions

hi, does anyone know how to make photos fill the wallpaper space? i'm left with annoying black lines at top and bottom which never happened with T610 and which aren't present on the pre-loaded pics - anything i can do? apologies if this has already been discussed but i did search for it to no avail...
2 other less important questions - where can i find the SMS memory status - how many texts can it store? and anyone know how to make the clock be present in sleep mode like it was with T610? i just have a blank screen and the clock only comes up when you press the vol buttons.

1) Use adobe photoshop and resize the image to 176x176 pixels. Set the image mode to RGB to reduce the loss in quality.
2) You cant check the status of available sms memory but you can check the number of sms u have by going to file manager -> more -> memory status and the second last option shows the messages
3) Goto settings -> display -> and set the light setting to 'on' . But this will consume a lot of battery power
