Hello all,

I just got a new P910i from singlepoint. It is locked to Vodafone. I installed Opera to use my own internet settings but the browser is not connecting to internet at all. It is taking Vodafone GPRS settings even though I added new connection in Control Panel settings. Isn't possible to use our own settings without getting it unlocked or is there any other work around.

Thanks all

Someone brought his P900 to me with exact situation. Theoretically, I expect that 3rd party internet apps should work with other settings, but I was proved wrong. His option was to go wipe out the tweaked firmware and re-install. :( This message was posted from a P800

mamba wrote: "try using your new settings as preferred". Could work. But in the case of the guy who brought his p900 to me, those settings were greyed out. Absolutely no modifications could be made. Let's have your feedback; hope it works. This message was posted from a P800

Hold on mate, All you have to do is ring up Voda customer services (191) and inform them you are using a third party internet browser on your phone, and you need GPRS WEB enabling on your sim card.
You may also need the VODAFONE GPRS WEB settings manually installing onto your phone (Recomended).
after this has been completed you should have no problems.
As an expreiment try connecting your phone to your pc via the cradle, open the opera program and see if it runs while your pc is connected to the internet. As your phone should use your pc`s modem in this instance...
Good luck..

Hello Mates,

Thanks for ur replies... Hai Codfather I followed ur reply and did the same but my Opera browser is not connecting to the internet even though I got broadband and craddle connected to my lapop.
I even did a copy of Vodafone settings and created a new connection again using those settings. I now made this as preferred connection and opened Opera to connect. Now if use the information icon on taskbar below browser its taking Voda Contract WAP as preffered and not connecting to internet at all. Anyhow I am gonna call Voda Cust.Services to do what Codfather said. Cheers for ur help mates and I will let u guys know the result...
