> Please help! Problem with T610
Bookmark topic
I got a new phone cover for my T610 @ Xmas and I thought I'd done well replacing everything, but now when I make/recieve a call the person cannot hear me when I'm talking on my T610 but I can here them. I've re-stripped it and had a look but cannot see anything that I've damaged. I wonder If I damaged the Mic or something.
Please Help

Before doing anything further, take your phone to SE.

Yes. Sony Ericsson service center i meant. Is your phone under warranty? And did you open up the phone?

Yeah I had to completly take the phone apart and no it's not under warranty.
I take it the Mic is the little black rubber circle attached the the phone near the sim card?
I wonder if I could buy a new Mic?

I would strongly advise you to take it to the service center. They might even give you a replacement phone if they find it damaged. Is there any near you?

Did you put the mic back in the right postition exactly? Also, is the new case you put on the phone a genuine one?
I've replaced a case on a T610 before for a cheap non-genuine one, and found that the mic didn't work in that as that case was a poor fit. Also, make sure that all the screws, especially those two at the bottom of the phone near the mic have been tightened enough (but don't over tighten them either!)
In what experience I've had, it's quite hard to break a mic for a phone, unless either you damage/break the contacts on it of jab it with a screwdriver or something!

@wiseman
I've changed mine 4 times now.
You've probably left the two bottom screws to loose.

I have spent last night and all this morning trying to fix this same problem. after reading this forum I decided to try the old centre housing to see if the mic socket was wrong. well I replaced the original centre piece and then refitted the new outer casings.
Low and behold everything back to normal. I thought I had lost something from out of the phone but it turns out that this new cover had been at fault all the time. now all I have to do is try and get a refund on the new cover.
I guess it sometimes pays to buy original parts.
Thanks to everyone for their postings without which I couldnt have fixed this phone.
