I installed PC Suite 3.1.1 and everything works fine until I remove my phone from the cradle and reinsert it. The phone connection link finds the phone but I never get the phone icon and there is no connection.

I have tried everything I could and SE said that it was probably a hardward problem with the cradle. It is not because the same thing happens if I use bluetooth to connect. I get one initial connection and then it never reconnects until after I reboot.

Has anyone elese had this problem or have any ideas? Thanks, Bill

Additional info:

if I end the audevicemgr.exe and CapMan.exe processes (using Task Manager) and then restart the Phone Connection Monitor, the phone icon reappears without having to reboot.

I have reproduced this problem on three computers and all do the same thing.

If it's not the cradle and not the computer then it has to be the phone. Have you tried formatting the internal disk to start from a clean slate? (jog up, *, jog down, jog down, *, jog down, *)

If it doesn't work after that I'd return the phone for repair.

It could be a software conflict. Have you got McAfee antivirus or firewall installed?

Thanks for the suggestions. I have disabled Zone Alarm, no luck. Done a hard reset - no luck. Can't install latest firmware - bombs out with comm err.

I hate the idea of returning the phone -- they said two weeks! This sucks.
