> How do i use my GPRS on my laptop
Bookmark topic
Hi, i use free GPRS with O2 on my P900 and i want to know how to be able to use it on my laptop using bluetooth.
i have a dongle and ive tried several times to get it to work but it doesnt.
the dial-up asks for a number and i dont know what to put in as gprs doesnt need a number does it?
i saw a topic in which someone said to put in *9**#1 as the dialup number but that didnt work either...can someone tell the the steps i need to take to make it work.
when i use my wap connection it works fine...it just dials 915000 n connects with no probs...but i want to use my GPRS
im usin free gprs on o2
thanks

Try *99***1#. If that doesn't work call your operator.

thats right ! call your operator, usually complete settings for this task is provided by your Service Provider

or a visit on your operators web site will more a lot easier coz sometimes you can find the "configurators" links on it and you can do it all by yourself. Here in our place such settings are provided by our operator on thier web site.

@Lil Master: If what you have now is free GPRS, most likely it is a WAP account & wont do any connection with your laptop. You need a GPRS Internet account for that. Call your operator or visit their website. BUT, I wager you will be required to pay to use a GPRS Internet account :)

if you use a nokia or siemens you can try *99***1#
for all other models *99#
if you have a 2 different APN's (access point name) for GPRS and one will not work for internet access on laptop via GPRS, you need to enter an extra dial string (at modem properties)
+CGDCONT=1,"IP","your.apn.com"
