> Fault on SE k700 losing signal

Hi I'm new here so I'm sorry if I've posted in the wrong place or something but I haven't been able to find the an answer to my question so any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
I have a SE K700i on orange and I have a problem where it will just randomly lose signal even in a good signal area and stay dead until I either turn it off or it decides to start randomly working again. I have missed a lot of calls because of this and it’s really annoying. I have 2 friends with the k700i on orange as well and both of those have this same problem (one has returned it 3 times having same problem each time) the other one is on pay as you go n brought his 2nd hand so cannot return it, I can return mine but I’m wondering if there is any point as I’m sure the new one will do the same as my friends has after replacement. Is this a common problem and is there anyway to fix it? Firmware wise etc...

My k7 on orange does exactly the same. My previous nokias and siemens have also suffered from this. You say though that you need to restart the phone to get the network again, this is something I haven't had to do, instead just by moving the phone it will pick up signal again after maybe 10 to 15 secs. After speaking to them that know, I believe it is a network issue rather than handset. Unless anybody knows differently?

The signal on my K700 varies wildly, it can be saying 4 bars or even full signal one moment, then in another moment have no signal at all! It's done this with both my O2 and Orange sims.

i think alot of SE phones have jumpy signal bars, i think its something to do with the refresh rate.

Hmm, i don't think it is phone fault. I have K700i from T-Mobile, using it in polish netoworks and i have always 4 - 5 signal bars.

The other day i was just lying on my bed waiting for a phone call to do a pick up from the night clubs, I took my phone out of my pocket after a phone call on my land line with no signal, turned it off n back on and i had full signal. Apparently they'd been trying to ring me for 40 minutes... And this isn't the first time its been like it for that long.

That is pobably a network problem as it happens to me on Vodafone sometimes when there is network overload.

I also find signal issues with SE phones from the T105 to Z600 even maybe the K700i I played with twice. The signal fluctuates. I'm working in a cellular store for the holidays. When I mess around with the Samsung X450 the signal is always full but It's unstable with my SE T310.

Well if i remember correctly sometime back there was a thread in which signal pickin capabilities of the k7 were discussed...apparently users were very satisfied and claimed it picks signal even better than the nokias(which no other se phone can do) so i dont think its a phone issue. Also se uses a different algorithm for displayin signal strength which explains the hyper sensitive signal bars but i have made calls with very clear voice quality at just one signal bar.
