Do you have a gprs connection and is it activated against your number by your service provider? This message was posted from a K500

Do you want to access it with your phones email client or using wap? email client for yahoo and hotmail is paid. You have to pay yahoo and microsoft for their email services. Have you paid them? You need to have their pop3 settings. This message was posted from a K500

The K500's browser probably doesn't support the webpages that you are trying to access, so you will be unable to access webmail accounts.

You can access POP3 accounts from your K700.

thx for the reply gov.i really dont mind how i get access to my email. when you say "email client" to do mean virgin (my phone operator)? or my ISP (which is blueyonder)? Ideally, i would like to be able to access my blueyonder email account but i also have a hotpop account too. if i can access my blueyonder via wap then that would be cool. but i dont know if thats more expensive than using my email client (or, indeed, easier)

i didnt know that about yahoo and hotmail! interesting stuff.

In the messages menu you have an email option. Have you seen that? This is what you call the phones inbuilt email client. This email client can fetch messages from your inbox to your phone. This message was posted from a K500

If you input the details of a POP3 account into your handset's e-mail client you can use the client to check your e-mail through GPRS.

@gov: yes i have seen that. and @ scot too, i have entered all the details of my pop3 server into the settings but all i get is a message saying "finding server" when i go to send an email. it's like its searching for a server but can never find one.

i read somewhere on here that my phone has to have an APN set to internet rather than WAP to be able to send emai. do you know how i can access this to be able to check if i am set to internet?
