Is there any apps out that can play wmv/wma files on my P910i? I specifically would love to have the ability to listen to streamed audio.

Happy new year mate.

I think that this was discussed before here and the suggestion was to use a converter to convert files to MP3 or Ogg files. If you do a search you might find it.

All the best

I need a port of Windows Media player - or any other software that can play a streamed audio file from the web by IP.

There isn't currently any software that can stream audio over GPRS to a PXXX phone, unless you count the built-in video player, and that's dodgy at the best of times!

OK, let's count the built-in video player. Now how do we stream audio, even if it's dodgy?

Same reason there's not a Terminal Server Client either.

MS have a problem with their "proprietary" stuff appearing as Symbian is their major competition in the smartphone MS market.

Thanks for explaining why the P910a can't do normal audio (and video)streaming. But since the specs claim that it can do video streaming, does anyone know of a site where this will work?

OK, I did a search on this board for "stream" and got 101 hits. I found the following list of sites that do free audio streaming:

http://www.nrk.no/nettradio/
http://lite.virginradio.co.uk/
http://www.radioseven.se/
http://di.fm

These all work on my laptop, some of them work on my PDA, and none of them work on my P910a.

I could not find any free video streaming sites, so I am left with absolutely no sites that can do any kind of streaming.

I know that many of you are reluctant to experiment with streaming because it would eat up your limited GPRS bytes, but I would like to know from each person that reads this post if you have ever tried to stream anything and what was the outcome?

Thank you very much.
