Bookmark topic
I have a P910i CDA 162006/16 and I am not able to do the online update from SE.
it gives the following error:
Error in communication with the device
Make sure you have removed the battery and reinserted it. Then try to start the device.
If your device shows an error message or does not start at all, click Recovery Mode
If your device behaves normally, click Start over.
If the problem persists, please contact support.

SonyEricsson UpDate service down for the moment..
After christmas something crashed and they've told me that they're trying to solve it right now, and have been doing that since..
I'm a little bit dissapointed about the downtime for the updateservice but i guess they to need their holidays.
Anyway.. I'm on the phone everyday and i'm going to post it whenever the update is online again..

Esato to the rescue.
After many-many unsuccessfully tries with the other update web site and about 4 hours of strugling, this site at the above link worked.
Many Thanks

thanks for the reply.
I tried using that link but no luck
is it beacuse of the branded phone?
my phone is voda branded. I have CDA 162006/16, what are the changes in the new firmware and how do i get my phone UNBRANDED? is that possible though the recovery mode of the update service?

Could you not use sman to find the startup file and delete it. It may be protected but i have an unbranded p910 and found default startup file on it. have not tried to delete it.

@SE Freak
i think you will find the startup and shutdown mp4's are located in the a:file system and so are only read only hence cannot be deleted.
