hi the majority of phones are made out of plastic,i found with my p900 the case became very worn and creaked due to being made of plastic.
i dont think even the sony ericsson name tag is metal on my p910i.
what materials would you like to see mobiles made out of in the future, certain meterials could cut weight and are much more durable and of a higher quality, also couldn't wood be used or other modern materials?

why are we so limited to cheap plastic?

I agree. Isn't the P900 painted plastic? I can't remember. (My friend had one which he didn't take very good care of.)

The T300 I have started creaking after a few weeks.

It is possible for handsets to be made of all plastic and still be high quality, in fact I think the quality of materials is advancing just as much as the handsets themselves. I like metal on a handset too as in the K700.

I would love the high-end smartphones to have metal cases. Smartphones are generally bigger anyway so making a nice titainium or aluminium case wouldn't really make much difference to the weight anyway but it would do wonders for appearance.

Because i suspect that even though SE could make a phone from carbon fibre and titanium nobody but a select few would want to pay the price..

ive seen tv's by phillips using wood recently so it must be possible.
i am also sure there must be better plastics availible by now that wear less on the p series it is ridiculous the wear it suffers.
