there is a usb cable that comes with every v800 fone from vodafone.
the end of this usb cable that fits into the v800: what is this type of plug/pin pattern called?
it is not usb series b; it is not USB mini-b. it has a pin pattern that is different from any other mobile device or digitial camera that i have that has a "small" socket for the usb cable . it isnt even the format called i have heard referred to as "sony mini-b".
i have searched for what this type of usb end connector is, but can not find out.
can you tell me?
the se z1010 used a true mini-b connector cable. this is different.
someone has called it "true" usb, but google gets no hits on that.
thnx

Is that the end that goes into the V800? Because it looks like USB from the side.

I was just going to suggest that it will work with either Motorola or Z1010 USB cable, but this is something different!! Never seen anything like it to be honest.

the foto is accurate. however, it may be difficult to ascertain the actual size of the end plug from the foto: the plug is very small, somewhat smaller even than the size of a standard mini-b usb, but the pin layout is completely different.
any help in finding out what this is called will be appreciated.
there is zero info on the se web site, and i have searched many sites with fotos of various small/mobile device usb connectors, and cant find any info.
is this a new standard that will be supported by other fones and portable devices? that is the question.

It's also a mini-plug but uses 4 pin instead of 5.

I've seen it on sale here in Portugal on a well known computer store.

It costs about 8€ for a 1.8m USB 2.0 cable.

The brand is Lorenz Bell. Don't know if it's available in other countries.

Hope this helps.
