Hi

I think you answered your own question in your reply to my post. You should take it to the carphone warehouse nearest to you and get them to flash the firmware to a standard SE firmware.

I think this is how you get rid of it, but i may be wrong.

Anybody else got any suggestions?

(I dont know a thing about smart phones still, ) totalmultiserver or the davinci server may do the trick. (Ignore if it is a mistake.) This message was posted from a K500

Can anybody confirm if the method i suggested is correct? I have 2 x Orange branded P900's that i would like to get flashed with standard SE firmware.

Is this possible to do from home with a special data cable, or do you have to get it done professionally? I know about the kits that cost £300+/-, but is it possible from home?

Hope someone can help us.

Not sure if this applies to the p910; but you can change the startup screen on the p800:

The startup and shutdown animation on the P800 can be cutomized by having 240x320 resolution .mp4 files.

Use the file manager program and create a folder called sysdata in drive c: (ie. c:sysdata) and copy the files in that folder called startup.mp4 and/or shutdown.mp4 respectively. The same rules need to be followed as with creating any other .mp4 file for the P800.

Warning: If the .mp4 file is not correctly formatted or uses a codec or codec setting that is different from the ones used in the startup/shutdown .mp4s, the phone will hang and you won't be able to use the phone.

If you flash to SE firmware, you will get the default (SE) startup/shutdown video. Take it to a professional, it will cost more to get cable and program to convert yourself (plus you better be sure, one wrong move and your phone will be paper weight). You can changed it in the p800 but not in the p900.
