I found a dead subpixel, near the top left corner of the display
It's black when it's supposed to be blue, OK when it's any other color, not containing blue. Does the warranty cover this? It's not so bad, as it is noticeable only when it's strong blue, but anyway....pisses me off.

i have three dead pixels in my tft monitor, its just life.
because it aint all wires, its liquid crystal and signals and shit, it means that sometimes they are just dead, if there is such a thing.

I guess I just leave it. But I tried calling two SE service centres and the idiots won't tell me whether it's under warranty or not, only some generic bullshit like bring it over here, we send it over there, and in a month, something will happen. Yeah thanks. I wish the manufacturers had some real technical support, in one place only, where it'd be possible to get information like this.

Is your S700i Vodafone branded? Vodafone branded S700s have 1 "dead" pixel when using the camera and some other functions.

OK, I got an answer from the service center today. Looks like it is covered by the warranty, but they would replace just the display. So f*ck it for now....maybe if it ever gets worse, but I hope it won't.

I dont think it has anything to do with vodafone branded, cause mine has a blue pixel too, when taking pictures of dark areas. I took this picture while holding my hand over the camera - notice the blue pixel in the bottom:
But what bothers me the most, is the noise that come from the button that opens/close the shutter, does yours have that sound too? Look at my video:

Don't confuse dead (sub)pixels and hot pixels, hot pixels are normal when taking pictures in low light with digital cameras and concern CCD, dead (sub)pixels are on the LCD. Well, that lens cover switch looks a bit loose.

Yes, those pixels are normal. Look at the picture below, it was taken with my Olympus C740UZ. See the bright dots on the sky? They're not stars, obviously
