> Thinking of ditching SE

Seriously within the last week I've considered getting one of those new Nokia's( even though the thought sickened me). I can't stand the bad reception of my current phone(t68i) any longer...just loses network coverage at all the wrong times. What has also pissed me off about SE is that I've discovered their phones don't support SSL encryption(Gmail POP3) so I can't check my mail. Unless they bring out an affordable phone that doesn't lose the network signal and supports SSL, I'm off to the Finns.

The fact that one handset loses signal suggest it alone has a fault & not that all SE's lose signal!!!
All of my many SE phones have been just perfect for signal strength!

there is no harm in giving SE a rest for a while if they don't suit your needs. several people are doing this lately and hopefully SE will listen a bit.
I've been off SE for a couple of months and just biding my time to see what comes next

well obviously if this is the case then SE arent maintaining consistency in their quality as i found out to my disappointment yesterday
And it doesnt mean that SE has the right to produce one defective phone in a 100 or even a 1000,since some poor bloke is going to get that phone and be truly disappointed
i'm currently giving up SE too and going for a nokia

I forgot to mention this, on the weekend my phone switched off by itself and would re-boot prompting me for a PIN...WTF? Would that be a problem with the firmware...I'm really tired of this phone but veering towards the dark side( Nokia) is bloody scary. I haven't seen any of there models that attracted my attention...nada, zilch, niks!!!

What utter rot! I don't think anyone mentioned SE having 'the right' to manufacture defective handsets. Nothing is perfect and the manufacturing process can and does produce faulty handsets, this is true for all manufacturers, not just SE. If anything Nokia would actually be far worse for producing defective handsets since they manufacture more units, thus increasing the chance of defective units being produced.

I wouldn't have thought that a loss of signal on one handset would be reason enough to generalise about the entire brand. Incidentally, are you sure it isn't a network problem rather than the handset?
At any rate, you should buy the mobile, which best suits your needs, irrespective of brand.
