> Another Orange P910 Problem
Bookmark topic
Ok am now having my third orange p910 delivered tomorrow as they all have suffered from being slower than my old p900 - crashing everytime I open the flip - being supplied with a corrupted memory stick - battery life of a few hours - unable to update firmware with the newer SE versions - frequently unable to sync with my PC (I need to point out that all these problems have occurred on all the p910's Orange have supplied) Personally I blame the infernal tinkering that orange have done with the homescreen etc as I have never had a single problem with my unbranded p900. *rant over*
Am I just damn unlucky or has Orange got a batch of duff p910's or any advice on how I can "advise" customer services to resolve this problem?

Persuade them to give you an unbranded one!
They probably won't have any, but it's worth a try. Normally the people on the helpdesk haven't got a clue what you're talking about, and have to refer you to someone else, who also won't have a clue.
You could try and bullsh*t your way through the system and explain your problem to them in such detail that they'll be forced to give you one, or compensate you in some way or another.
This probably doesn't help much, but i thought i'd contribute anyway!
Good luck!

yeh, orange definatly piss about with the phones too much. however there is ways around it
you could always try getting the firmware flashed and then it is officially 'unbranded.
hope it helps

Try asking at your local Carphone Warehouse/SE Service Center, and see if they will flash it with a generic SE firmware for you. they might charge you for this service, though.
Don't forget to backup your data first!

Now on Number 3 and its still shite!! Now I cant access the data on my memory card (which is working normally as my old P900 has no problem with it). Am seriously considering just dumping this upgrade to a p910 and waiting for the next best thing to come along. *not happy at all with Orange branded phones*

You must be doing something wrong... three P910i's can't all be screwed.. unless they're sending you the same one over and over again
You could always ditch it and buy my XDA2 instead? You wouldn't be dissapointed with that.. (400Mhz!)

3 dodgy phones in a row is extremely unlikely. I just got an orange 910 and it appears to work fine - although I suspect the cradle might not be charging the phone!

Well number 4 on its way - no unbranded phones available on Orange - CS have suggested that if I still have problems then my only option is to cancel the whole thing and get an unbranded phone on my own and on a network of my choosing.
Here's hoping Number 4 is alive when I get it!
And thanks - good pitch for the XDA - but not really my thing.
