Having just upgraded my p910 to the latest firmware via SE update service i am now trying to upload my backup back to the phone, but it keeps stopping with an error "DEVICE BUSY, TRY LATER" Whats going on!?!

Never come across the problem myself with my P900, but have you tried turning the P910 off, and back on again? Try different USB Ports, check firewalls, all that stuff.
