When i try to update the firmware via the sonyericsson webpage the update service gives me an error: There is currently no service for devices belonging to your operator.
I have the DSS-25 synchstation. I've read something about that you may get this error when the power-cable is attached but i also tried to unconnect the power-cable but that didn't solve it. Then i thought that my phone was locked but i checked it with pressing "
I have no more idea on what to try or why this errormessage is displayed. Hopefully someone has some ideas on why this occurrs and some tips.

what network do you use? It may be that your Network does not support this service as yet.

Yeah, i just see that i also get an errormsg on the website saying that "Your operator does not approve the usage of this service for this device.".
Could this be solved by using a sim-card from another operator? Anyone who knows which Swedish operator that allows updating? I also have a sim-card with Comviq as operator.
Have i really understood this right, it's due to the fact that i use Telia as operator and they aren't on the list, i just don't get it how the update service can be bound to the operator.. Is it really? I mean, the phone's not locked to the operator.

Something similar happened to me. I have a K700i - bought SIM free, not locked to any operator - and I couldn't update the firmware using the SE update service. It gave me the same error, that my operator (Orange UK) doesn't allow the use of this service. However, it is not an Orange SE K700i ... it was never locked to any network ... I don't get it.

Ok, i'll try tonight with using a sim from another operator to see if that has any effect. My phone's not branded from any operator.

The firmware on my phone is not branded either, not by Orange or by any other operator. It never has been.

I checked in the servicemenu. In the menu where you can see the simlock settings i.e Network, Network Subset, Service Provider & Corporate. Each each title had a unlocked padlock and the number 5 next to it. Has this anything to do with my error?
The phone's not branded.

Contacted SE yesterday, today i got an answear. They told me that it's cause i'm using Telia as operator. Anyone on this forum who has successfully updated the firmware on k700i using Telia? (not in the service store but with the dss-25 or simmilar)
