> P900 Keyboard Icon not working
Bookmark topic
Have any P900 owners experienced a problem with the keyboard icon, the one at the bottom of the P900 screen as used for text input. When I click on this icon, nothing happens; as a result I have to used handwriting recognition, which is not all that good, certainly not to the standard of palms graffiti or pocket pc.
When this started to happen, switching the phone on and off solved the problem, now it seams permanent, despite upgrading the phones firmware.
Has anyone had this problem and found a solution? I am due to upgrade my phone to the P910, but am thinking again, problems like this are a pain and really reduce the functionality of the phone.

it could be messed up or corrupted systems files
OR
it could be the bottom of the screen is damaged in that area

Thanks for the reply, as the unit has had a full restore, I suspect the screen, although there are no physical signs of damage, perhaps something damaged underneath.
Thing is with the P900 and I suspect the P910, they are quite flimsy units, not so robust as other brands.

i have a p910i and a p800
to be honest the p900 which i HAD it broke when i dropped it.
the p910i has had more modeling technology put into it.... and its working excellent for me.......
you said you were considering buying one...... i would definatly persue the idea. they're extremly sterdy.
1 of the main reasons is that they wanted to make the p900 ligher than the p800.... therefore making the caseing less durable so they didnt have to use as much material. although this lowered the weight slightly ..... the Pxxx have enough weight to damage themselves if they are dropped. i havnt dropped my 910i yet and plan not to lol, but i think it offers more than what your bargaining for!
hope this helps

Thanks for the reply Joe, very informative, it's a free upgrade for me soon, so I may as well try a P910, at least I will have more ways of text input, in case on fails.

This had happened to me a few times, I just turn off my phone and back on, that seems to fix it for me.

If your phone is still under warranty i suggest you take it to an SE Service Center and demonstrate your problem to them. They may end up replacing the screen or flashing the phone for you.
Even if you are opting for the P910 upgrade, i suggest you get the other phone fixed first. Then if you get the P910 you can sell the phone for more than you would have been able to with the fault.
Hope you find this helpful. PM me if you need more help
