Hello everybody,

after a bit of tooling around, I found a way to remove that awful Vodafone Live on my V800:
- Standby screen: Icon still there, but when you click the right soft-button, you connect to whateveryoulike (currently for me: Google for cellphones )
- Main Menu: The 2. icon was general from the start, but it reads whatever-you-like (it reads "Google wml" for mine), and it connects to the same page as right clicking on the standby screen

A few caveats:
- Works for me. Hope it works for you too
- Made it with a phone bought @swisscom, which has no Voda pictures on the casing to start with but is very much Voda branded otherwise.
- Since i don't know if this interests anybody, I'll just post what I did, which might be too much - the real solution might be easier. If anybody wishes, I can elaborate further.

Here's what I did:
(Updated, much easier than before:)
- From the main menu, go into "Connectivity" - "Internet settings" - "Internet profiles". Create a new profile. Chose "more" on it, go into "Advanced" - "Change Homepage" and set what you'd like to see.

I'm still working on the URL syntax so that we could link to html-files stored locally on your memory stick - for ultimate ease-of use, we could have a quick-start-menu on button 2 of your standby-screen

Cheers!

URL syntax:

file:///card/MSSEMC/myfolder/myfile.wml

allows you to access any wml file on your memory stick and set it as your homepage. I've currently set it to a local copy of Google wireless, and now google is always

Of course, you can also set it to any of the filetypes supported by the browser, even flash pages... Just imagine the possibilities

Cheers!

Thanks

By the way, I found a page with several V800 firmwares - anybody interested in removing all of Vodafone giving them a try?

Here it is:
http://www.ddtnetwork.com/SEflashUSB/V800/

Cheers!

Are these the same files that setool.net has posted?

yes, the section these files com from is the USB flasher area, which can be used with the setool server instead of the slow T28 cable.

Can these files also be used in total server?

i very much doubt it, i dont think TMS support V800 flash yet, i am sure they will soon though. Setool is the best for Sonyericsson though.
