Need some help here guys! I am looking for a phone that has all the following features -

- camera, will settle for VGA but pref better than that!
- flipfone clamshell design, medium to small size
- able to store at least 70 incoming/outgoing SMS text messages in the internal phone memory
- cocantenated SMS
- full bluetooth, including data transfer, picture transfer to PC etc
- sim free, unlocked, and not vodafone branded [don't like the look of their red theme]
- caller picture ID on the front screen as well as the inside screen of the clamshell, preferably for text receipt as well as calls
- able to assign different ringtones to different callers

You wouldn't believe how difficult this is, to get all these features in one fone. I like the look of the new Motorola V3 but Motorola fones are notorious for only storing SMS texts on the sim, and not in the fone memory itself, and my sim will only take 10 msgs. Also under consideration was the Nokia 6260 until I saw it in the flesh - it's far too big.

Anyone got any suggestions? If I could get rid of the vodafone 'red' themed software, I'd settle for an unlocked Sharp GX30i. But I can't find anywhere to flash such a fone with non-vodafone software.

I think the camera goes without mentioning. There is this new nokia that is flip but also can swivel on its flip's hinge. A Vga cam in the body's side. (Similar to the position of camera button on the k700) a dark color, like a deep violet or something. (I dont know the number.) This message was posted from a K500

An s700 or v800? The v800 will be widely available sim-free soon.

@carrie - Are you limiting your choices to SE ?

Hi - any manufacturer, not just SE - although I do prefer the SE software.

V800 looks good. Anyone know if this will be available sim-free without the vodafone branded software and vodafone logo on the front? I'd prefer it to have standard SE software. Yep - I know I'm fussy!

You pretty much described the Moto V3. I've heard that there is a way (seem editing etc) to have the phone store messages on the phone's memory.

I have one, and as most V3 owners will tell you, its a brilliant phone. If you're keen and you find out how to modify the phone to store more text messages let me know and I'll test it for you.

Otherwise, I've heard that Samsung will be releasing an updated version of the E700/E715 with Bluetooth. Maybe you can wait for that.

@theEnd - I like the Motorola V3 very much but was concerned about the storage of text messages as you mentioned. However somebody else has just suggested that I get Orange to send me a new sim card, that the newer cards have much better storage on them? My sim is about 4 years old and will only store 10 incoming and 10 outgoing texts! This person said their new Orange sim will store 200 messages - anyone know if this is true, cos if so it would seem the best route to go as it gives me more choices for the new phone.
