Hi,

I use a piece of software called floAT's Mobile Agent, which is a great piece that displays all the things going on with your phone, charging, current consumption, battery life in percentage, and many other things, along with allowing you to make and recieve calls through your computer and texts, e-mails etc...

But the point I am trying to make, is that the computer, (through the software), gives a reading in degrees centegrade of the temperature of the phone and battery, these are clearly actual as I have done many tests,

So, does the K700i and others have thermometers in-built?

Have I been missing the fact that phones have thermometers?

or is it new, or unknown?

yes i think this is a silly temperature gauge, not what i would call a thermometer, the SPV has an app similar to what you are suggesting, it measures the phones "cpu" temperature.

Yeah, it does seem a bit silly although based on the tests that I have done to check whether or not it is real, (by putting phone outside, keeping laptop inside), and it does give an accurate temp.

A good little feature although a bit dodgy!

I would still like to rely on our natural instinct..!

1) When its Hot..I have a coke or beer in hand...!

2) When its Rainy..I have dripping hair...!

3) When its cold..you will find me at the nearest Coffee Bar.

But yeah! It will be cool to have a TEMP Display

Well on my samsung i could type a code to see temp on screen...pretty cool. When i boot my pc cpu temp is displayed,how do you suppose thats done...same way?!?

Hmmm . . . about 'temperature' issues I guess that the Nokia 5210 introduced the very 1st fone with temperature feature on it

@clank, they are using a thermistor (or similar) which changes resistance when the temperature changes. The measured voltage across this resistor is converted to a digital value and calibrated to represent the temperature of the cpu of the computer. The phone probably uses the same principle to check the internal temperature of the phone, not the temperature of the room.

If you want to check it, try monitoring the temperature of the phone while charging and you will notice a significant rise.
