Does it also mean that DSS-20 is supported too?

If you have problems getting DaVinci Client to talk to your DSS-25, read the posts by Rebel2k and GsMen on the second page of this thread. You should also read
GsMen's other hints.
If you do not know what COM-port number your DSS is using, do the first 5 steps below.
Steps 6 - 14 show how you can change the DSS COM-port number to something else.
1. Right-click "My Computer" on the desktop, and select "Properties". Alternatively, you can go to "Control Panel" and open "System".
2. Select the "Hardware" tab.
3. Click "Device Manager".
4. Scroll down to "Ports (COM & LPT)", and expand it.
5. Write down the COM-port number of "SEMC DSS SyncStation".
--- Stop here if all you wanted was to find your COM-port number ---
6. Right-click on "SEMC DSS SyncStation (COMxx)", and select "Properties".
7. Select the "Port Settings" tab.
8. Click "Advanced".
9. In "COM Port Number", select a COM-port that _does not_ say "(in use)". Write down the COM-port number you have chosen.
10. Click "OK".
11. Click "OK".
12. You are now back in "Device Manager" with the list of devices.
13. Right-click "SEMC DSS SyncStation (COMxx)" and select "Scan for hardware changes".
14. Verify that "SEMC DSS SyncStation" now has your new COM-port number.

dss-20 wont work coz we cant use dss20 to flash p900 (i used u to use dss-20 to upgrade p9 but it wont work so i tried dss 25 and i was able to upgrade my p9).
so chances of dss25 to work w/ davinci is high
currently im using t28 cable fo flash..
btw, have some extra credits for davinciteam.com very cheap.

I bought a log today and I am trying to update using my DSS-25 but I cant make it work. Both fma and SE software connects just fine using the DSS-25 but when DaVinci software starts the flash it says "Power on phone" and nothing happens. Where is that guide u talked about?
I have tried different com ports, speeds and so on.. no luck.
Anyone got a tip?

hehe this is nothing special, i have said this ages ago but nobody listened and bought their T28 cables.
by the way DSS-20 works fine with online update and also with cruiser and fighter tools.

How can you tell what com port your dss-25 is connected to?
Also, could someone link to the tutorial (written by vee) that the original poster was talking about?

Yeah baby.. finally I did it!!
I tried flashing on 4 PC's and tried a fresh install of XP, then SP1 and then SP2.. nothing worked.
Then I installed Win98se on an older puter and it worked at once. It took 33 min doing the flash. Everything went fine.
Now I got R2AE033 and I can turn off the shutter sound by pressing "c" or holding down "#".
I also have the multi-character phonebook search function.
Havent had the time to test more then that so far.

I was reading the manual here on the site
http://www.davinciteam.com/index.php?page=manual-screenshots
and it says at the end of the flashing section
"Client will ask you totally 3 times to repower the phone!"
Does that just mean turn the phone off/on (or on/off, whatever the sitution is at the time) with the power button? Or take the battery out (which would involve disconnecting it from the stand), as mentioned in other guides I've read?
Also, how long does it usually take them to get back to you when you e-mail them for credits?
