I thought when this product was purchased (and you debrand your phone) it allowed free updates of Sony Ericcson software/firmware.

However, using the supplied T68i cable I am unable to use the SE update service and the totalserver client now says credits are required to download the latest firmwares.

Is this right? Is there no way of getting the latest firmwares without buying a credit each time?

I suppose the only other option is now buying one of the DS20 or DS25 docking station things - is that right?

As far as I know, when I used it last over Xmas, as long as you have a valid log-in, you can download the firmwares through the client for free.

And also, as far as I know, you can flash the firmware file for free as long as you only flash the firmware file, not the language pack to change languages.

I'm only writing from memory, and could be wrong. There are instructions in the client. Just click the Question Mark at the top where you choose the phone from the pop-up.

BTW, there is a huge TMS thread already. It's probably better to post such questions in there rather than post a new thread each time.

k700i De-Branding now possible with T28 service cable )

No, it's the same for either, fair point on the thread I have added to the one you linked too and will delete this thread later.

Thanks.
