Hello everyone, as some of u r aware last night i had a big problem wit ma fone... It went caput with a lovely smell of burnt plastic aftwards!!! Anyway whilst exchangin the fone (after 30 days... a perk of bein staff) i found a customer impact review which lists the following problem as something that may cause fones to stop working... read on...
The problem is listed as ' If the customer has more than 50 media files (mp3 or wav) then the fone may start exhibiting intermittent faults such as switching off, overheating and non responsivness '.
The remedy for this problem is (now dont laugh) ' inform customer to delete any files they do not use or have not used recently. this can be done via a master reset but will involve all the customers data being deleted '.... this made me laugh but my fone wasnt laughin wen it frazzled last night...

nah it doesnt say nethin in the manual... its on the internal intranet that only stores and hq have acess to. Its called the Customer Impact Review and lists any problems that vodafone and the manufacturer r working towards fixing.
As soon as i hear nethin about a fix i will let u all know... until then keep media files to a minimum or ur fone will smell like a sweet mixture of plastic and silicon, infused with solder... mmmm tasty. lol.

so jon.. r u sayin V800 with a max memoy of 1GB cannot hv alot of media? seems point less... any1 here has more than 50 media (mp3, videos, pics) all together, and seems to hv these problems? or better still face no problems at all... tiz is worrying knowing im maybe goin to get 1GB memory stick and putting stuff in it.

it only states media like mp3 or wav files MAY cause problems... u may get lucky an not have the probs or b unlucky like me an have to wait a whole evening to get it swapped

aww man.. not mp3's... usin the V800 as an mp3 playa, is one of my reason gettin the V800.. maybe its the design... the V800 is damn slim for its capabilities... all the gutz are near each other and causing heat to gather around the circuits... is there any cooling system for phones?? hehehe...

fingers crossed... they got a note on that one saying vodafone and SE are working towards a FW update to fix the problem... so hopefully sooner rather than later...

Wow, have there been a lot of cases where the phone was toasted because of too many media files or is it like a 10% or so chance?
